Research Retreat #11
Kansas City, MO; October 22-23, 2003

Evidence-Based Practice

October 22-23. noon to noon, Kansas City Airport Radisson Hotel, Kansas City, MO

Treasure Mountain #11 is an opportunity for the researchers, educators, and practitioners of the school library media profession to focus on the measurement of impact of school library media programs on learning. It is open to anyone who cares about building a case for the role of a strong library media program in the lives of young people. Each participant should come to the retreat having done background reading, some hard thinking on the topic, and something to share whether that be a piece of formal research, some action research, or some techniques or strategies that have been tried in a local school or district. The anticipated outcome is to boost everyone's understanding whether expert or novice in the topic. Handouts, tip sheets, ideas, websites for about 80 persons are welcome. Formal papers/written experiences/action research will be published as a proceedings.
